Future plans

1. Achieving self-sufficiency in the production of safe, adequate and quality animal meat for all, such as milk, eggs and meat.

2. To be developed as FMD and PPR free zone by 2023.

Recent commissions

1. In order to prevent the disease, the District Livestock Officer's Office, Rajbari, vaccinated cattle and birds at the field level.

2. Formation of emergency veterinary team in response to natural disasters (recent cyclone Fanny).

3. Encourage farmers to set up farms and hold yard meetings to increase milk meat egg production.

4. Conduct disease surveillance activities every month.

5. Collection of various samples for diagnosis and sending to Regional Disease Investigation Center (FDI), Manikganj for accurate diagnosis.

. Inspection of animal feed vendors at retail level and collection and dispatch of samples for safe meat production.

. To take initiative to run legal system / mobile court in collaboration with upazila administration to prevent adulteration in animal feed.

. A farm training has been organized annually to allocate revenue.

9. During the Eid-ul-Azha, the veterinary team is on duty at each of the sacrificial cattle markets for the convenience of the buyers and sellers.

10. Artificial insemination of cattle.

12. Ensuring healthy animal meat through training of butchers.

13. Vaccination of all dogs to prevent rabies.

14. Free vaccination, distribution of anthelmintics and other activities in the project villages under the NATP-2 project.
